The Nokia 7250, announced earlier this year, will be available in the UK during the first quarter of 2003 according to Nokia. This triband phone, (GSM900/1800/1900) will allow voice communications and high-speed data in HSCSD and GPRS networks around the world.

It is the first phone in its category to integrate a camera into its body. With a choice of changeable Xpress-on™ color covers to be introduced each season, this elegantly designed phone can be adapted to capture not only images, but the spirit of the time as well. Boasting a vast array of features, the Nokia 7250 phone also includes a full color screen and multimedia messaging (MMS) functionality, as well as exciting audio capability with an embedded stereo FM radio and an optional Nokia Music Stand enhancement.

“Each generation of Nokia products strives to surpass the measure of comfort and performance expected from a contemporary mobile phone,” said Seppo Laukkanen, Vice President, Product Management, Nokia Mobile Phones. “With the launch of the new Nokia 7250 phone, we will strech our visual mobile communications offering to users who demand fashion and follow the latest trends. With a full color screen and integrated camera, users of the Nokia 7250 can store and share images and experiences while on the move.”

The design of the Nokia 7250 phone embraces innovation and provocativeness. The unique keypad layout is highlighted by bold graphical stripes, and its flamboyantly designed Xpress-on™ colour covers make it a true feast for the senses. The four-way scroll with shortcuts makes navigating the high-resolution color screen simple and fast. The new Nokia 7250 weighs 92 grams and has a talk time of up to 5 hours, and a stand-by of up to 300 hours.

Users can create multimedia messages with the integrated CIF camera optimized for compact screens such as the 128X128 pixel display in the Nokia 7250 phone. Multimedia messages can be shared around the world with other people who have MMS-supported phones or by sending them to an email address. In addition to pictures, multimedia messages created with the new phone can be accompanied by text and ring tones. Additional images and tones, as well as Java™ applications and fashion-style wallpapers, can be easily downloaded from Club Nokia or other content providers with the WAP 1.2.1 browser featured in the Nokia 7250.

Together with the mobile wallet application, the WAP browser also allows convenient and reliable online transactions. With SyncML support, personal data from the calendar, address book or to-do-lists can be synchronized over the air with a network server, to keep the office PC, for example up to date while traveling.
