Flytxt awarded Comic Relief contract
Flytxt scoops industry’s most prestigious
charity brief

Comic Relief,
announced today that Flytxt have
again been awarded the contract to be its mobile technology provider.
The contract was put out to tender after Red Nose Day in March
this year. Four mobile specialists pitched Comic Relief decided
Flytxt best matched its needs.
Comic Relief’s partnership with Flytxt began
in 2002, when they ran the first premium rate SMS campaign using
one common short code across all four major UK networks for Sport
Relief 2002.
Martin Gill, New Media Fundraising Manager, Comic
Relief stated “We fully intend to cultivate our use of wireless
activity to maximise the fundraising and marketing potential of
Sport Relief 2004 and Red Nose Day 2005. By developing our relationship
with a leader in the mobile marketing industry we can extend our
use of this channel. Flytxt’s experience, creativity and
access to advanced technology will allow us to explore and take
advantage of new opportunities such as MMS and loyalty schemes
with confidence.”
Comic Relief will now be able to take advantage
of Flytxt Direct, a powerful and user-friendly platform allowing
brands to manage their mobile marketing in-house. As Comic Relief
becomes more comfortable and familiar with mobile marketing Flytxt
Direct will allow more control and flexibility while enabling
Comic Relief to utilise this marketing tool more frequently and
cost effectively.

Comic Relief is planning to run various campaigns
to raise funds, maintain relationships with existing supporters
and collect opt-ins for future communications. To date, Comic
Relief has raised over £520,000 through running premium
rate SMS initiatives during its Red Nose Day and Sport Relief
campaigns. All the money raised goes directly to Comic Relief
funded projects helping to bring an end to poverty and social
in-justice in the UK and the poorest countries in the world.
